Steampunk Hourglass Corset

Good evening everyone :-D

I would like to share with you a project I finished yesterday. I made Steampunk Hourglass Corset for a friend who started her own business this year. She owns a wedding and gala dress rental salon.

I made this corset using Hourglass Corset Pattern by Anna Hardman. It is made out of scraps from Graphic 45 'French Country' paper collection (Patterns and Solids) and it´s hand sewn. I didn´t sew together front parts, instead I added eyelets to the both front parts of corset and connected them with jewelry wire.

After corset was done, I embellished it with old necklace chain and filled glass vials. I used vintage safety pin to close "the belt" (chain). I also embellished corset with paper flower, colored with distress ink Brush Corduroy and water.

I am entering my project to contest/event Made by me made for You! (Selber Machen - Glück verschenken!), organized by TOPP-Kreativ. All the details about this contest/event here. I used tag by TOPP-kreativ (Downloads - Geschenkanhänger), which I printed on white card stock paper and tied it with wool thread to the belt of the corset.

Here is a detailed list of supplies I used for this project:
  • Hourglass Corset Pattern by Anna Hardman
  • Graphic 45 paper collection 'French Country', 6 x 6 (Patterns and Solids)
  • white paper (on this I printed pattern)

Shadow Box French Country

Hello everyone :-D

I would like to share with you a shadow box I finished a while ago. I called it French Country as a beautiful Graphic 45 paper collection 'French Country' I used for this one.

I made shadow box frame from one sheet of paper as shown in video tutorial by Lily. I used 8" x 8" sized paper and got a frame dimensioned 4" x 4" x 1/2".

I wanted this one to be different from all other shadow boxes I made, so I decided to add doors to a frame.

I added small magnets, small metal piece and small metal key, so the doors would not open. When opened, doors are small photo frames. Inside photo frames are photo mats. I made them from one sheet of Graphic 45 paper, rounded edges with paper puncher and distressed edges.

Door knob is an old button I had in my sewing stash. This button made me a problem. It was overweight and the box was falling down when doors were closed, even after I embellished the box.

To make balance, I used easel. I removed easel from an old photo frame, removed old paper, sheet it with Graphic 45 paper and glued it to shadow box frame.

I embellished shadow box with fussy cut images from Graphic 45 'French Country' paper collection, fussy cut printed digital images I found on Internet and butterflies die-cuts I bought on eBay (I don´t have die-cut machine). I added acetate sheet behind the bicycle to make it stable and on hanging clock to create glossy accent.

I made small marmalades using glass vials with corks, glue, glass colors, paper scraps, distressed inks, raffia and small labels I made using MS Word.

List of supplies I used for this project:
  • Graphic 45 paper collection 'French Country', 8 x 8
  • Graphic 45 paper collection 'French Country', 6 x 6 (Patterns and Solids)
  • butterflies from die-cut 'Flutter Tree'
  • piece of black card stock paper (clock background)
  • piece of thick card stock paper
  • self adhesive white paper
  • digital images: clock, lady silhouette, bicycle
  • acetate sheet
  • button
  • small key
  • eyelet
  • magnets
  • small metal piece
  • glass vials with corks
  • raffia
  • easel from old photo frame
  • UHU universal glue
  • UHU super glue
  • white water based glue
  • dimensional double sided adhesive foams
  • glass colors (420 Yellow, 436 Vermilion, 455 Dark Ultramarine)
  • black fine liner 0.5
  • Tim Holtz´s distress inks (Black Soot, Old Paper, Antique Linen)
  • computer
  • printer
  • scoring board
  • trimmer
  • scissors
  • round corner paper puncher
  • crafting needle
  • Tim Holt blending tool
  • nail polish remover acetone
  • cotton buds

Thank you for visiting and your kind feedback. If you have any questions about this project, don´t hesitate to contact me. Have a great weekend :-D

News to share

Hello everyone :-D

I wanted to share some news with you, while I am enjoying my morning coffee and looking at my To do before New Year list. It is cloudy here in Cavtat and it will probably rain again today. That is surely the best weather when you want to stay indoors and make a ton of everything in a short period of time. :-D

This morning I saw that my Fancy Winter Card is TOP 3 at A Random Fan. I am so happy that a Design Team liked my card.

This morning I also applied to Guest Designer Call at  Hanna and Friends Challenge Blog, a place for stampers and cute images. I love to visit this blog, because there are always fun challenges, beautiful projects and very talented Design Team.

Fancy Winter Card

Hi everyone :-D

Yesterday I made this Fancy Winter Card

Image on the card is paper pieced. I used a Bugaboo Digi 'Fancy sunbonnet winter 2'. I printed 5 same images, 3 of them on white paper and 2 on design papers (Crafters Companion Bebunni Christmas 6" x 6" Designer Paper Pad).

After that, I colored parts of image with my colored pencils (shoes, scarf, mittens, pocket), fussy cut parts I needed, colored edges with permanent marker and pieced all elements together. Here are photos of all layers prepared to be pieced together.

Here are some close up photos of finished image. I hope you can see the layers. :-D

I embellished my card with big red beads I had in my stash for years and paper flowers I got from a friend crafter. I distressed flowers to get a vintage look, as well as the card base and paper layers. I also added some pearl marker on to a card and flowers, to create that snowy look.

Card dimensions are 11,4 cm x 11,4 cm (4 1/2" x 4 1/2").

List of supplies:
  • Bugaboo Digi 'Fancy sunbonnet winter 2'
  • Crafters Companion Bebunni Christmas 6" x 6" Designer Paper Pad
